Phew! Ladies and gentlemen, I apologize for being off the radar the past week I was down for the count…and now Phil is sick. Boo. I hope everyone is able to get past whatever is going around. So, to catch up, I’m releasing 3 blogs in one day! What?!
First things first, what would have been my first Fabulous Friday!
Fabulous Friday is geared towards my portrait clients. What is a portrait? A portrait is way more than a photo of you. It captures your soul. When you come into my studio I can see and understand what you like and don’t like about your body, your love for yourself, and your confidence. My purpose is to show you how beautiful you are on the inside and outside. When you look good you feel good, and when you feel good, you look good. I love to hear your stories. Why you have decided to celebrate you. We have all struggled in one way or another about our self-esteem. Trust me, there is a whole lot going on underneath the surface. But through photography, I have learned how to be confident, look confident and feel wonderful and accept who I am and what I’ve become through my life. Self-love is so important and sometimes it’s hard for you to see. My job is to show you your self-love and make it shine through your photographs. One quote that I love that I feel describes not only portraits (self-love) but also my other passion photographing love between others is by St. Augustine, “Love is the beauty of the soul.” In a photoshoot with me, I strive to bring out that beautiful soul and love for yourself and others.
My goal during a portrait session is to make you feel fabulous, beautiful, gorgeous, and stunning. They are designed to pamper and celebrate everything about you.
How should you prepare for it? That’s the question I get asked the most.
Here are a few tips to prepare for your portrait session:
First, decide what type of session you want. By yourself, with friends or family? Beauty or casual and relaxed? My favorites are when you decide to get dressed up, and pamper yourself.
After you know what type of session you want, you’ll want to decide on your outfits. I suggest you bring about 5 outfits of a variety. Try to keep away from bold patterns and colors as it can distract from your photos. If you want to add something new to your closet now is the perfect time! Form fitting clothes always make any client look slimmer but a flowy or poufy skirt (or dress) adds depth and fun to your photos. I have a small wardrobe in-studio that you can borrow from for your session.
Hair and make-up is included for all sessions, some feel more comfortable coming with their favorite foundation applied and must have lip color in hand. If you want to get your haircut, plan it a week or two in advance to your photoshoot.
Finally, plan a night out for after your photoshoot. You’re going to look and feel gorgeous afterwards! Whether it’s a date night or a night out with the girls, you won’t feel bad about feeling amazing.
