How long has it been since you've gotten your photograph taken? Not just a selfie or a cell phone picture, but professionally? This picture here, my husband and I were lucky enough to meet a fellow professional photographer on the streets of Verona, a photo I know I will cherish for a lifetime.
Sue Bryce, a professional portrait photographer in which I have learned from and am highly influenced by, coined the hashtag #existinphotographs.
Being in photographs is so important! Not only for you, but for your loved ones. Your parents, your siblings, your spouse and your children; when you're gone, what will they have to remember you by if not photos? When I look back at my childhood, I don’t remember going to get photos taken (twice when I was a teenager…maybe). We don’t have too many photos from when I was growing up. Granted technology wasn’t as easily accessible as it is now, but I remember my parents not wanting to be in pictures because of this reason or that. Now that I’m older, I wish I had more photos of my family and I to look back on; which is probably why I always have my camera with me everywhere I go. Photographs leave legacies. Whether it is your legacy or you family’s legacy, a photograph shows who you are where you come from and looks into your beautiful soul.
So, I am here to tell you that you’re good enough to be in photos. You’re beautiful, you’re needed, you’re loved and you (and your loved ones) are something to celebrate. You must exist in photographs. Your family must exist in photographs. You must celebrate your life. Whether you think you’re too fat, too skinny, have bad complexion, aren’t “photogenic,” I’m here to tell you, you’re wrong. You are perfect.
My job is to give you the best photograph of yourself you’ve ever seen so that you and your loved ones can cherish it for a lifetime. Be confident and love yourself.
I want to shoot a session with you. While it might cost a couple hundred dollars, trust me when I say you’re going to get incredible photographs but also a wonderful experience. I challenge you to exist in photographs. To love yourself enough to show the world how beautiful you are.
