Well hello there!
Ever wonder what happens after your portrait sessions? Where do the pictures go? What does the photographer do with them before they're delivered to me? Well, I'm here to tell you.
First let me start of with my main goal: to keep your NATURAL beauty in the image! Do I need to say that again? Natural.
I don't really see the point of drastically changing your photographs because, that's. not. you. When you come in for a portrait session, we are celebrating you. So, why Jeopardize that? We see it all the time in magazines. Models and celebrities being photoshopped to look perfect and UN-natural. Let me tell you, no one is that perfect. Then when you see said models and celebrities in real life, you realize that they're fake (well, their photographs at least). Let me tell you a secret...I don't even pull my photos into Photoshop...*gasp* Dun, dun, dun...
Yes, you read that right. I stay in Lightroom which is another photography editing program by Adobe that offers limited editing in a sense that it is mostly used for color correction and minor blemish removal. Think of it as a modern day darkroom. I think this is the best wait to maintain the integrity of the client I have photographed.
While I know we all have insecurities; making waists slimmer, making arms more tone, etcetera, only adds to those insecurities and blocks our self-love. Without self-love we can never truly be happy because we're constantly worried about what other people think about our looks. I don't want you to think that way. I want you to love who you are both inside and outside.
Bringing this full circle, I take a minimalist's view of photo editing portraits. I will remove minor blemishes, control those fly-aways, smooth out the skin just a bit and color correct the entire image. You are beautiful, so don't be ashamed of showing people who you are.
I can't wait to take your photographs!
